Fizzy’s November Beauty Faves

Check out the recommendations our team was loving this November just in time for holiday shopping.

POSTED BY LAUREN WATERS

Happy December! It’s the most wonderful time of the year, which means sales, gift buying, and making wish lists galore. Our beauty team is here to tell you what products they were loving this past month and where to get them for the beauty-lover in your life.

REVOX Vitamin C Serum
Even with the risk of public shaming, I am going to be scandalous and say I actually prefer Revox over The Ordinary. Every single product that I used so far from Revox has been God-sent, but this serum is definitely my favorite out of all of them. Vitamin C is well-known for brightening and reducing redness and dark spots, and this serum went above and beyond! I used to have severe acne and I still had some red pots and hyperpigmentation left from my teenage years. These are almost completely gone after about 2/3 months of using the serum religiously in my skincare routine. If you don’t have this issue (honestly, I’m jealous), you can (and should) still try it, since vitamin C also boosts your skin’s collagen production, which means it’s going to leave your skin firmer and prevent potential wrinkles from forming. And if I hadn’t already sold it to you, it also protects against sun damage (but NOT like a sunscreen, please still use sunscreen) because it’s rich in antioxidants, and it’s also great to soothe a sunburn. Use it in the morning, rather than at night, and you’re definitely going to see great results!

Altruist Dermatologist Suncreen (SPF 50)
I have been using this sunscreen for around 6 months and it’s getting harder and harder to even think of trying others. At first I liked it because it was one of the few sunscreens that don’t peel on my face. But the more I used it, the more I learned about it and the more I started to love it. It gets absorbed into the skin crazy-fast, even if you don’t apply it in thin layers, it’s not sticky AT ALL, and it leaves absolutely no white cast. In theory, it’s better suited for dryer skin, since it is a tiny bit on the oily side, but I found that even on my oily skin, it doesn’t leave it looking greasy as much as it just gives it a healthy glow. The best part is that Altruist also offers a fluid that’s even lighter than the sunscreen, and a spray that’s just perfect for reapplying throughout the day, when you already have makeup on. I honestly couldn’t recommend it more!

Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Undereye Concealer
Holy-grail product for me. This product is for the natural, laid-back, no-makeup makeup sort of days. Medium but buildable coverage, lightens the undereye area but doesn’t look cakey, smoothes skin, and no creasing. What more could you ask for in a daily concealer? Pat this on with a wet sponge, slap on some mascara, eyebrow gel, cream blush, and lip gloss and you’re ready to take on the world. I don’t even have to set with powder! This thing doesn’t crease on me for anything.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Moisturizing Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50
This has been one of my favorite sunscreens lately for daily wear. I apply alone or over a thin gel moisturizer in the mornings and it doesn’t look greasy (as most sunscreens do), but it does feel hydrating and smooth under makeup. I tend to go for SPF 50 for the face always because of where I live, and I trust this product to shield my skin against any sun damage that could easily mark my face. I struggle with acne and if I make sure to reapply this sunscreen throughout the day I can see major improvements in how fast my acne scars fade. I recommend this for all oily, combination, or acne-prone people out there.

First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Niacinamide Brightening Eye Cream

This FAB niacinamide eye cream is my absolute favorite, and the only thing I see myself using for my (extremely sensitive and chronically dark) eye area in the foreseeable future. Most eye creams I tried in the past did either nothing or hellishly irritated the skin around my eyes, sometimes causing allergic reactions and angry swelling. Not only does this eye cream not cause any negative reactions, it also visibly moisturizes my lids and leaves behind a shimmery lightening effect that lasts.

Vitamin Sea Beauty Blue Sea Kale Grapefruit Deep Pore Exfoliating Face Mask

I can’t say enough good things about this mask! I’ve been using it for years, and I’ll probably never stop. It’s soothing and gentle and leaves you feeling extra clean. I use it a few times every week. I even introduced it to my mom who never uses face masks or any kind of intense skin care, and now she uses it every time she’s putting on a full face of makeup. It’s gentle enough for all skin types and tons of product for the cost.

Covergirl Clean Fresh Skin Milk

This is a brand new addition to my makeup routine, and it is a game-changer. I saw a rave review for an inexpensive drug store foundation on TikTok, so I had to try it. This foundation is low coverage and buildable. It’s a little dewy and makes your skin look fresh and ___. I apply with a brush over my cream contour, and it allows the contour to show through with perfect subtlety and blending.

Shop it here for $4.55.
