Canadian actor Finn Wolfhard, best known for starring in Stranger Things, opened up to Digital Spy about fan theories regarding Season 4: Volume 1 of the Netflix hit. However, the theory that has gained the most traction in the media relates to Noah Schnapp’s character, Will Byers, and Will’s sexuality.

Fans seemed to be intrigued by episode 5 of the recent season; in a scene with Schnapp and Wolfhard, Will appears to be contemplating the idea of coming out to Wolfhard’s Mike. In his discussion with Digital Spy, the It actor believes that Will’s feelings are “shifting towards a more endearing, kind of heartfelt, romantic affection.” Wolfhard continued by saying that as the season unfolds, Byers will continue to show affection and his feelings towards Mike.

Since season 1 of Stranger Things, Mike and Will have been close, but in Season 3, there was a shift between them. In a scene from that season, Mike engages in a heated conversation with Will and lashes out by saying, “it’s not my fault you don’t like girls.” Even though nothing was explicitly confirmed after that scene, executive producer Justin Levy claimed that “there aren’t many accidents on Stranger Things.” While Levy’s statement might not be the justification that fans are looking for, he said they would answer the fan’s questions before the end of the series.

Stay tuned because Season 4: Volume 2 of Stranger Things will premiere on July 1, 2022!
