Fenty Maison Turns Heads with Natural Shots

‘I’m not just a scar, I’m a human.’

Robyn Rihanna Fenty has been called a zeitgeist, a trailblazer and many more things. She utilizes the platforms she has created for herself to spread positive messages, first it was using Fenty Beauty to create over 40 different foundation shades ranging from the palest to the darkest shade – and everything in between. Then onto using a wide range of body types in her Savage X Fenty Lingerie shows and now with her new fashion endeavor Fenty, a luxury Maison that “forms the staples of a wardrobe”.

Whilst it is known that brands are aspirational, consumers are becoming more aware of brands that represent them. If a brand doesn’t show a spectrum of individuals, they are less likely to succeed in this day and age.

Aweng Mayen Chuol is a South Sudanese model who is making waves in the modeling world. The 19-year-old has facial scars and interesting eyes, which make her a wonder in the modeling world.

“‘Look at me, I’m not just a scar, I’m a human.’ But I get it, it’s a curiosity. I know I’m different, I know my facial features are different, but to me that’s beauty.”

In many shoots she takes part in there are attempts to edit out the things that make her original, but in a recent campaign with Fenty, she is seen to be wearing the Roped In-Ear Cuffs and her facial scars are completely visible. The deep colors of the shoot are complimentary and the lighting illuminates her skin, no retouching was necessary and no retouching was done.
