Eden Rain Unveils "Growing Pains": A Raw, Piano-Driven Ballad
Lingering love for the ones who never really let go.
If you’ve ever kept someone in your heart long after they left the room — Eden Rain wrote this one for you. The Leeds-born, London-based alt-pop melancholic returns with Growing Pains, a stripped piano ballad soaked in soft desperation and late-night what-ifs. Out now, it’s Eden at her most vulnerable: raw vocals, minimal production, and the kind of lyricism that stings like a truth you were trying not to admit.
Written with producer Iain Berryman, the track captures the aching moment you realize someone you loved is a stranger now — and you’re still haunted by who they used to be. “I think I’m even half waiting for them to hear this song and come back to me lol,” Eden says. That’s the line that stays with you — half-joking, fully honest, and painfully relatable.
Less Polish, More Bruise
Known for her cinematic alt-pop textures, Eden flips the script on Growing Pains, letting her voice carry the weight. There’s no wall of sound here — just piano, creaking room noise, and that voice. Fragile, flinty, and full of feeling. The silence between notes does just as much as the lyrics: “I’m really bad at letting go, even when people have actually been pretty shitty to me.”
This is Eden’s most emotionally naked release to date, and it works. It’s not performative heartbreak — it’s what it feels like to be the one who still checks their page, still writes songs with no one to send them to.
Live Show Incoming
To celebrate the release, Eden just announced her next headline show at Oslo, Hackney on October 14. Expect a night of quiet catharsis and low-key chaos — in the best way. This follows her support slot on SOFY’s recent UK tour and standout singles like Who I’ve Touched and It’s Always Been Like This.
Eden Rain isn’t trying to be perfect. She’s trying to be real. And that’s exactly why she’s one of the most quietly exciting voices in UK alt-pop right now.
