Disney Teams Up with Givenchy for 100th Anniversary Capsule

Reintroducing the long-forgotten Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.

POSTED BY KASEY O'CONNELL

The Walt Disney Company is approaching its 100th anniversary, and what better way to celebrate than showcasing its first animated character? In partnership with Givenchy, Disney is releasing a capsule collection of pieces featuring Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, perfectly timed with the upcoming Year of the Rabbit

Oswald was created by Walt Disney in 1927 for Universal Pictures. While you may not recognize his name, you’re definitely familiar with another character who shares many of his features—Mickey Mouse. Oswald’s image adorns varsity jackets, graphic tees, hoodies, and denim pieces for both men and women.

A short “World Tour” film was released alongside the collection, starring Riverdale’s Madelaine Petsch, Elvis Alton Mason, and singer Amber Liu. The three join Oswald on a journey through animated landscapes, from New York to Paris to Tokyo.

The collection will be available on December 16 in China, Singapore, and the Tokyo Ikebukuro Popup. Next is the Miami Aventura popup on the 19th. On December 30, it will be available globally in stores and online
