Raf Simons Chained Goodbye

Another loss for fashion.

Raf Simons, a great famous Belgian designer, announced the closing of his eponymous brand once his S/S 2023 collection is presented. Finally, pictures of his S/S 23 collection have been revealed, photographed by Willy Vanderperre and styled by Oliver Rizzo.

The collection is inspired by the icon of homoerotism. Karl Weinberger, a Swiss photographer who, in the 50s and 60s, was documenting the rebellious young men from the post-war generation in search of identity. Other reference of his collection is the magazine Der Kreis, which is a German gay porn magazine that became a guide for style for the LGBTQI+ community in a time when there was sociopolitical tension.

This range includes high-waisted shorts, sweaters in Raf's signature crop-top cut, dressed in massive padlocks, punk-like chains, and keys to accessories the outfits, and with that goodbye another designer closes this chapter with his final collection.
