Content Creators Go Cottagecore In Daniëlle Cathari’s New Woolrich Collection

To celebrate her second collection with Woolrich, Cathari tested her designs in a trip to rural Italy.

For her latest collection with American luxury brand Woolrich, Amsterdam-based designer Daniëlle Cathari disconnected content creators from the digital world. She sent a group of girls dressed in the Spring/Summer 2022 collection, titled “Made For Fun,” to navigate nature and foster friendships. The three-day trip’s design also was to test the collection’s practicality and quality.

The content creators took shelter in Ferdy Wild, a quaint family-run farm in Lenna, Italy. In the Italian Mountains, the group’s itinerary included hiking, foraging, and cow-milking, all while clad in Cathari’s designs. Cathari selected these activities to bring the “Made For Fun” title to life while also allowing the collection to exist in its authentic element.

Cathari’s second collection for Woolrich takes inspiration from a 1987 radio script found in the brand’s archives titled “Made For Fun.” The script’s playfulness is seen in the clothing’s subversiveness and asymmetry. Nature also serves as an influence through the collection’s outdoor wear, made from repurposed fabrics.

Windbreaker bomber jackets, asymmetric cargo skirts, knit halter tops, and matching fleece sets reflect Cathari’s countryside inspiration. Accessories like thick checkered socks take this theme further. Functionality fuses with style to create a collection perfect for rural landscapes.

Cathari’s latest collection with Woolrich comes after their first collaboration, where she revived the brand’s line, The Woolrich Woman. After searching through their archives, Cathari felt that the line’s purpose of producing practical pieces for everyday women is just as relevant today as it was 40 years ago, the last time the line was available.
