Colorful Suits Are Having A Moment
Hockerty’s Pitti Uomo 110 lookbook proves tailoring doesn’t have to be boring.
When we think of suits, our minds often go straight to classic black tailoring, neutral shades, and timeless silhouettes. But at Pitti Uomo 110 in Florence, one thing was impossible to ignore: menswear is embracing color.
For its latest lookbook, Hockerty introduced “The Color Edit,” a collection built around the idea that color is more than just a detail — it can define an entire outfit. Inspired by Italy’s landscapes, architecture, and natural beauty, the collection transforms traditional tailoring into something much more expressive.

Think light pink linen, sky blue seersucker, terracotta double-breasted suits, forest green tailoring, and chocolate-toned jackets. Instead of feeling overly bold, these colors bring a sense of personality and confidence to classic menswear.
The inspiration behind the collection comes directly from Italy itself. The vibrant blue tones of Positano, the warm shades of Caltagirone’s hand-painted tiles, the greenery of Ravello gardens, and the famous pink bougainvillea of Capri all influenced the color palette. Each look was designed around a specific place, turning every combination into its own story.

What makes the collection especially interesting is the way it makes tailoring feel less formal and more wearable. Lightweight fabrics, linen textures, and unlined constructions give the suits an effortless summer feeling, proving that looking polished doesn’t have to mean feeling restricted.
The double-breasted silhouette was one of the biggest focuses of the collection, appearing in shades like dusky yellow, terracotta, powder blue, ivory, and deep purple. Meanwhile, relaxed field jackets offered a different take on tailoring, styled with unexpected combinations like cream trousers, sage tones, and mustard accents.

The collection also reflects a wider shift happening in fashion: people are becoming more confident with color. After years of minimalism and quiet luxury dominating wardrobes, dressing with personality is making a comeback. A colorful suit might feel like a statement, but the right shade can be just as timeless as a classic navy or black.
Hockerty’s Pitti Uomo 110 lookbook proves that tailoring doesn’t have to blend into the background. Sometimes the most memorable outfits are the ones that embrace a little color.
