Capri, Italy To Hold The Chanel Cruise 2021 Runway Show
Chanel Cruise 2021 takes to italy for their next runway show.
The past four years has seen Chanel stage its Cruise runway show in Paris. The brand made the decision to stick to its French roots “to help the city counter the fallout from the 2015 terrorist attacks and to enhance its reputation as the global capital of fashion”. However, their recent press released declared they would be holding their next Cruise show for 2021 in Capri, Italy. Leaving the French capital for the first time since 2016.
This will be the second Cruise collection designed by current creative director, Virginie Viard, after the passing of Karl Lagerfeld earlier this year. The 2020 show took place with great success, focusing on the theme of Travel, which turned the Grand Palais into its very own train station. Think retro prints, bold tones and the classic interlocking Chanel logo.
The 1920’s inspired collection takes influence from the original Gabrielle Chanel designs. The press release from the brand explains “From the 1920s, Gabrielle Chanel offered her clients lightweight and comfortable designs for yachting, coastal resorts, spa towns and other various sunny destinations such as the Riviera and the Lido beaches of Venice,” which shows a much more meaningful relationship between the Chanel heritage, and beautiful location of the show itself.
The Chanel Cruise 2021 show will take place on May 7th 2020, on the island of Capri, Italy.
