I'll admit it. Sometimes "quiet luxury" starts to feel a little too quiet. That's why I was pleasantly surprised by By Malene Birger's Spring/Summer 2027 collection, which proved that understated dressing doesn't have to mean playing it safe.

Showing on the second day of Copenhagen Fashion Week, the Danish label continued refining the polished direction it's been building over the past few seasons. The result felt elegant without being predictable, balancing clean tailoring with rich textures that made every look feel a little more alive.

The Textures Completely Changed The Mood

What stood out to me most wasn't a single silhouette. It was how much attention was given to texture.

Pearl-embellished knits, soft fringe, tactile fabrics, and delicate surface details added warmth to otherwise minimal looks. Instead of relying on bold prints or dramatic shapes, the collection created interest through materials that looked as good as they probably felt.

I loved that nothing screamed for attention. The details rewarded a second look, which somehow made the collection feel even more luxurious.

There were subtle vintage references woven throughout, but nothing looked like costume. Instead, everything felt modern, wearable, and incredibly considered.

It's polished fashion that still leaves room for personality, which is probably why it feels so effortless.

Even after founder Malene Birger stepped away from the label, the brand hasn't spent its time looking backwards. Instead, it's quietly developed its own identity under Emilie Martinsen-Kønigsfeldt, moving from bohemian ease toward something more tailored, tactile, and intentionally feminine.

Watching that evolution happen season after season has been genuinely satisfying.
