Taus Is Becoming One Of My Favorite Copenhagen Fashion Week Brands

Some brands grab your attention by doing the most. Taus does the opposite, and I think that's why I keep coming back to it.

The Copenhagen label returned to Copenhagen Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2027 as part of the One To Watch initiative, presenting a collection that felt understated, beautifully tailored, and full of thoughtful details. It wasn't trying to compete for the loudest runway moment, and somehow that made it stand out even more.

I Love That Every Piece Already Has A Story

One of the things that makes Taus feel different is knowing where so many of the clothes begin.

Founders Freyja Taus and Juho Lehiö build collections using forgotten garments and deadstock fabrics sourced from flea markets and vintage shops across Denmark and Finland. Instead of chasing endless newness, they transform existing materials into made-to-order pieces that still feel incredibly refined.

I always think upcycled fashion runs the risk of looking overly crafty, but Taus avoids that completely. The tailoring is so clean that you almost forget many of the fabrics had a previous life.

The Pandora Styling Added Just The Right Amount Of Shine

For SS27, Taus also collaborated with Pandora as part of Copenhagen Fashion Week's NEWTALENT partnership, incorporating the jewelry brand's pieces throughout the runway looks.

I liked that the jewelry never felt like an advertisement. Instead, it blended naturally into the collection, adding subtle sparkle without distracting from the clothes. It was one of those collaborations that actually felt considered rather than simply placed on the runway.

This Brand Just Keeps Getting Better

After first appearing as a One To Watch designer for AW26, it already feels like Taus is finding an even stronger point of view.

The combination of precise tailoring, thoughtful upcycling, and made-to-order production gives the brand a quiet confidence that feels refreshing. Nothing looks rushed, overdesigned, or trend-driven.

Personally, I think that's what makes Taus so exciting to watch. The collections don't rely on shock value. They rely on craftsmanship, restraint, and clothes that feel like they'll still look just as good long after fashion week is over.
