A Uniform For The Outdoors By Burberry
The FW21 Pre-collection lookbook is inspired by Tisci’s love for nature.
Riccardo Tisci continually pushes Burberry’s adventurous heritage with bold prints and cuts that refer to their rich archives. Once again this formula has proved successful in the British brand’s latest F/W 21 pre-collection lookbook.
Tisci draws upon standout patterns, such as camo and plaid, along with modern tailoring silhouettes that are a staple to Burberry. The Union Jack motif is also featured on accessories and patches, aligning Burberry with their history whilst the garments become more modern. Some garments even seem deconstructed, with sheer trouser legs and asymmetric leg cuts – hinting at a new future for the brand.
“I have been inspired by the rich heritage of traditional British dress codes: tempering camouflage prints to blend harmoniously within natural environments, combining them with structured tailoring and romantic florals, Broderie Anglaise details and references to the animal kingdom.” Tisci stated.
Functional elements contrast classic, making these new garments work ready with a high fashion twist. Military details, such as pockets, are placed next to beige overcoats creating a fusion of modern masculinity – Tisci is boosting the brand into a new era without forgetting its history.
