Bella Hadid Officially Marked Her Spot In Fashion History
Fashion magic was made at the Coperni SS23 show.
There was a moment that will go down in the fashion history books at the Coperni Spring/Summer 2023 runway show amidst the middle of Paris Fashion Week. The show was a lustrous affair as a slew of neutral colored slip dresses, shoulder padded tops, loose fitted pants and cropped tops came down the runway.
The pieces stood out as asymmetrical lines were a highlighted feature and cutouts were at the forefront. As the show was coming to a close, Coperni ended with a grand finale that rightfully will be forever remembered throughout fashion history.
The closing look started with Bella Hadid walking down the runway in nothing but her underwear. As she stood upon a platform, the model had her dress spray painted on her among the live audience. A nearly naked Hadid was transformed as the sprayed-on white substance quickly developed into a perfectly fitted white midi dress.
After taking in the beauty of the moment, the spectacle was quickly compared to the iconic moment from the Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 1999 show. The closing look of the McQueen show could only be described as performance art as model Shalom Harlow walked down the runway in pure white dress and two robotic machines sprayed her with black, yellow and green paint. Science and technology met fashion which resulted in work of art—and that moment was captured once again at Coperni.
The stunt was absolutely brilliant, and only leaves us wondering if the brand will try to top itself with another emotional experience come the next fashion month.
