ASICS SportStyle and isla Berlin are making a statement—on the feet and in the streets—with their new limited-edition Crafts for Mind collaboration. Reimagining the freshly launched GEL-KINETIC FLUENT™ silhouette, the project is a tactile tribute to creative women, everyday motion, and the art of care.
Movement as Medium, Style as Statement
Rooted in mutual respect for craftsmanship and community, this drop is more than a sneaker—it's a movement. Each pair comes with a custom knee-high neoprene sock and has been hand-finished by isla Berlin using their signature nail art techniques, chrome accents, and high-gloss details. It’s fashion with a pulse: made to flow from studio sessions to club nights without missing a beat.
“This shoe is our tribute to nail art, to movement, to our global community. It’s glossy and soft, but bold and functional—a playful flex that reflects all the different styles within our world,” shares Charissa Chioccarelli, founder of isla Berlin.
Craft, Care, and Cultural Synergy
Founded in 2017 as a nail salon, isla quickly evolved into a full-blown cultural engine—bridging beauty, fashion, and nightlife with a distinctly Berlin edge. Their values—care, creative freedom, and collective joy—align seamlessly with ASICS’ long-standing mantra: Anima Sana In Corpore Sano (a sound mind in a sound body). That synergy is the heartbeat of the Crafts for Mind initiative, which channels artistic attention and emotional wellbeing into tangible design—while also supporting mental health charities through proceeds.
For this collab, isla enlisted Metagirll, a Berlin-based creative known for expressive visual language, and fashion producer Elisse Wiegelmann to develop the prototype from concept to chrome-laced reality. Each shoe is handmade in Berlin, making every pair a one-of-a-kind fusion of athletic performance and urban artistry.
