Hyundai and Apple are negotiating, aiming to reach a deal for the production of electric vehicles this year. The production of cars could begin ‘as early as 2024 in the United States’, as reported by Korea IT News. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts a much slower rollout, estimating that the brand’s first electric cars will leave production halls in 2025 or 2028.

The company would use its ‘breakthrough battery technology’ which will lower the cost of batteries while increasing the vehicle’s range, a report by Reuters explains.

Apple’s plan to manufacture vehicles is known as Project Titan and has been under debate since 2014 when they first designed their own vehicle from scratch. The tech giant then decided to focus on software instead which has resulted in postponing the production of cars.

The vehicles are expected to be manufactured at the Kia Motors facility in Georgia. Alternatively a joint investment by Apple and Hyundai may be required to set up a new production plant in the United States.

There is no official confirmation from Apple whether their cars will come into production yet.
