A.A. Spectrum Debuts AW21 ‘Cyber-Berg’ Collection

Oversized styles meet futuristic design.

POSTED BY TESS HARDY

The outerwear brand, A. A. Spectrum, has debuted its latest AW21 collection titled Cyber-Berg, pushing us into the realm of futuristic functional-wear with high-performance fabrics.

Since launching the first collection in Beijing Autumn 2016 as a cross-cultural collaboration, Copenhagen-based designer Elisabet Stamm has created ‘a tribe not an army – a spectrum with room for diversity.’ Five years on, both Stamm and creative director Kevin Tallon have continued to hold timelessness and sustainability at the core of the brand’s much-loved aesthetic.

Cyber-Berg provides silhouettes with oversized cuts and ultramodern design. Standout pieces include the 'Futurback Trench Coat' in Gold Dust and 'Mongolyak Down Jacket' in Wood Green. An array of puffer jackets can be seen in shades of Cream Sand, Industry Blue and Deep Brown, paired with Leaf Green and Late Grey 'Yagonbak Pants'. The collection takes on a cyber-sporty feel, introducing waistcoats and unconventional scarfed neck pieces.

Known for rebelling against mass consumption, the brand uses as many up-cycled materials as possible. “The fashion world cannot carry on as it has done with mass consumption of cheap throw away garments that damage the environment. We want to create classics which can be worn over many seasons,” states A. A. Spectrum.

The fabrication of the brand is Responsible Down Standard certified, which monitors the entire down production to harvest process. Another environmentally-friendly filling used in their jackets and coats is the 3M Thinsulate Insulation, known for its ultra-lightness and superior heat retention. Not only that, but all recycled fabrics used are also Global Recycled Standard certified. This allows fashion to be created while adhering to the strict standards for supply chain traceability, social responsibility, ecological management, and chemical testing.

Brands who reduce harm to the ecology and contribute to global sustainable development are highly commendable; we love to see A. A. Spectrum take pride in this.
