MatchesFashion Reveals A Creative Collab With Artists For Exclusive Face Mask Collection

With all proceedings donated to COVID-19 Fund and Artist Relief Charities

POSTED BY VIKTORIA BIELAWA

As face-masks have swiftly swept up the statement of ‘everyday accessory’, MatchesFashion decided to jump on the trend and collaborate with six international artists of the Wedel Art Collective to create a collection with each of the artists’ aesthetic.

Designed by leading artists – Jenny Holzer, Rashid Johnson, Barbara Kruger, Raymond Pettibon, Lorna Simpson and Rosemarie Trockel, the masks will present each collaborator’s distinct style.

Made out of 100% ethically produced cotton, the masks highlight the need for community action. According to a press release, 100 per cent of the proceeds will be donated to those affected by the virus. Half of the earnings will go to the United Nations’ COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for WHO, while the other 50 per cent will be allocated to two artist charities – Artist Relief and Common Practice. The two charities are dedicated to artists whose livelihoods have been affected by the pandemic.

The masks will be available on August 24 exclusively at MATCHESFASHION.
