Zoë Kravitz Says She Portrayed Her Catwoman As Bisexual
And it's our greatest pleasure.
In recent interview with Australian publication Pedestrian.tv , the Zoë Kravitz shared her interpretation of one moment in the new The Batman. In that scene, Selina Kyle enters her apartment looking for her friend Anika and use the word “baby” to call her out. While nothing is explicitly confirming Catwoman’s sexuality as Anika is referred as her “friend”, fans began wondering if there was more than a platonic relationship between the pair.

When the interviewer addressed the subject, Zoë told her : “That’s definitely the way I interpreted that, that they had some kind of romantic relationship”. The actress also agreed with the journalist when she expressed enthusiasm at the idea of Catwoman being bisexual.
If the character has been canonically bisexual in comics since 2015, Zoë’s statement would mark the first time Catwoman is depicted as queer on-screen, although a simple word in a three hours long movie is not enough to make a good LGBTQI+ representation as some fans pointed out.
The Batman is now playing worldwide exclusively in theaters.
