YSL’s New Rive Droite Capsule Celebrates Jean-Michel Basquiat’s Artwork
The ingenious collection that beautifully fuses art and fashion.
Saint Laurent‘s Anthony Vaccarello, the Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat and Galerie Enrico Navarra just created the most epic partnership for his latest Rive Droite capsule. The collaboration features the original works of Jean-Michel Basquiat of the late 1980s, the line features t-shirts alongside a collection of lifestyle goods.
The house’s Rive Droite stores in Paris and Los Angeles are to host the exclusive shows set to star pieces such as silkscreen, lithographs, drawings, ceramic goods that belonged to Andy Warhol, a spoon and a denim jacket up until September of this year.
Alongside the exhibition, Vaccarello has designed a capsule dedicated to Basquiat’s work, creating items such as tote bags, cross body bags, bagpacks and more that all feature his ingenious creations. Other standout pieces include must-have collectables such as the casually chaotically chic skimboards that are printed with Saint Laurent’s iconic logo, Basquiat’s art and name in white. For pieces much more suited to every day, Vaccerello has created phone cases, posters, underwear and more all featuring Basquiat’s work.
The collection is chic in true Saint Laurent fashion but is also an unrepeatable step in the right direction for the future of the house.
