With the rise of lingerie as outerwear, lace details have been at the forefront of my fashion inspiration. The coolest looks I’ve seen recently have all included a layer of lace, and people are seriously getting creative with the delicate fabric. I never thought it would be acceptable to wear a lace maxi dress over long pants, and, somehow, it is one of the chicest outfits I can think of.
The bohemian-vintage detail gives streetwear a softer, more feminine vibe, and the style possibilities are endless. From wrapping a lace scarf around our hips to layering a lace slip dress over jeans–then throwing on a t-shirt on top of that–lace proves that an outfit can be just as cool and effortless as it is romantic.
The underwear as outerwear look is taking over, and lace camis are stepping out of the bedroom and into real-life wardrobes. The best part is that these details persist through Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter wardrobes. In the warmer months, the simple slip dress over denim is a trusty go-to, but in the cold, all we have to do is add a sweater, and the outfit’s effect stays exactly the same.
