Versace SS23 Menswear Collection
Versace isn’t just a luxurious fashion company, it's a lifestyle.
Versace’s Spring/Summer menswear collection landed at Milan Fashion Week Men’s and its giving China cabinet. From models gliding the runway with urns, vases and saucer cup keychains – this collection has strayed away from its typical lineup. The Spring/Summer 2023 Men’s Collection, “walks the line between unexpected juxtapositions, fully reflecting a Versace Man who has mastered the statement he wants to make” as stated on the Versace Instagram account.
The Versace man is unfazed by gender norms and is the epitome of relaxation. The models strut through the runway in silk sets, slinky tank tops with side cut-outs, glossy leather, latex coats and further luxurious pieces plastered with medusa’s face.
Versace does not just stop at clothing – we’re talking about eating off of Versace plates, sleeping in Versace bed linens, staying at the Versace hotels, and we’ll be drinking out of those rhinestone reusable Versace coffee cups when they arrive in the store too. Donatella has transformed homeware pieces into cup-and-saucer belt chains, glitzed-out refillable cups and even porcelain urns or vases to be tucked under the arm like clutches.
Aside from the utility pieces and clothing from Versace Home showcased on the runway, the La Medusa Hobo Repeat made a reappearance. It is an archival Versace hobo bag remade in an XL shoulder size, along with other bags and shoes.
The unique accessories worn in the Versace Spring/Summer 2023 collection may seem obscure, but they are not completely out of the ordinary. In fact, Moschino’s AW 2022 show transformed models into luxury furniture with similar statement accessories and the Heven x Coperni’s glass bag carries a similar vibe.
You just never know when you might need a fragile porcelain urn or crystal-encrusted lighter holder.
