Ties Aren’t Just For Your Neck
They really do make the best belts.
For a few years now, I’ve seen influencers wear ties as belts, and this is a trend I’ve held a firm grip on. I have an array of colorful ties, and they’re the perfect way to match your belt color to your top. Why invest in specific belt colors when ties can be worn in so many more ways?
Obviously, you can wear them as regular ties, too. In 2023, I went through a phase of wearing shirts, ties, and waistcoats paired with pleated skirts and fishnets. I was big into the preppy look. If I were to go back to it now, I’d take it even further and accessorize my ties with pins and brooches.
We all remember the trend of upcycling vintage ties and turning them into tie skirts. For a more contemporary recreation, how about a top made of ties? A tie tube top would look so fierce with a pair of dark, baggy jeans. Bonus points if you wear a tie around your neck as a scarf, which is another one of my fave ways to wear them.
