From Pitch To Runway: How Football Became Fashion’s New Playground
Where goals meet glam.
From Jude Bellingham being the face of Louis Vuitton, to Leah Williamson being a Gucci brand ambassador, fashion infiltrates every field.
There was once a time where I believed the words “football” and “fashion” shouldn’t even belong in the same sentence. They were at the opposite ends of a spectrum—football is all sweat, turfs and team spirit, whereas fashion is all runways, silhouettes and self-expression. But in 2025, those lines have been blurred. Footballers today are not only expressing themselves on the pitch, but also in the world of fashion- and they’re doing it in style!
Jude Bellingham: Louis Vuitton Ambassador

So, what really made me realise the world of fashion and football are intertwined? I was scrolling through Instagram and to my surprise, I saw Jude Bellingham as the face of Louis Vuitton’s Spring-Summer 2026 Men’s pre-collection. The England star, being both a Louis Vuitton Global Ambassador and the face of a SKIMS menswear campaign, isn’t just a mega brand deal—it is rewriting what it means to be a footballer.
Bellingham challenges the old-school, outdated idea that footballers should fit this hyper-masculine mould. His style is confident, elegant and proves that luxury and athleticism, softness and strength, can co-exist all at once.
Beckham walked so this new generation could run

I remember being younger and seeing David Beckham make headlines with his fashion statements, new haircuts, and matching couples fits (Posh and Becks, need I say more?). It was the early 2000s, and Beckham was breaking stereotypes of what it meant to be a male footballer. Beckham was experimenting with nail polish—like on the cover of GQ magazine in 2002, wearing sarongs, and flamboyant purple blazers, way before it was deemed “cool”. It’s safe to say, David, alongside Victoria, shifted culture. I will always admire the fact that Beckham showcased that a man can care about his appearance openly, breaking gender stereotypes before people really talked about them. You can be both athletic and stylish!
Sir David, you will always be football’s first true fashion icon (they didn’t name a whole film after him for nothing!).
How about today?

Players like Bellingham, Hector Bellerin, and Leah Williamson are carrying Beckham’s legacy in the fashion world further. They’re redefining what an athletic identity looks like. It’s not always about simply being a strong, tall, game-faced, serious figure—it’s also about being expressive and authentic to yourself.
Footballers aren’t hiding behind their kits anymore, and that’s an important message. It’s proof that you can score goals by morning, and front global fashion campaigns by night. Anyone can express themselves using fashion, no matter the uniform or field.
