Swatch is riding straight into 2025 with RIDING THE CLOUDS, a limited-edition timepiece celebrating the Year of the Horse, and more specifically, the Fire Horse. Created in collaboration with artist Yu Wenjie, former Swatch Art Peace Hotel resident, the watch channels momentum, ambition, and that restless, forward-driving energy associated with one of the zodiac’s most powerful signs.
Rooted in Chinese art and symbolism, the design fuses the Fire element with the Horse’s long-standing associations with resilience, independence, and grit. This is not a quiet nod to tradition. It is a full-bodied visual statement about motion, confidence, and burning bright on your own terms.
A Dial That Moves Like Fire

At the center of the watch, the sun-inspired dial features two horses mid-flight, rendered with raised print to create a sense of speed and intensity. One is white, the other black, a subtle but deliberate reference to yin and yang. Their wings and manes are sculpted from flame, charging forward through drifting clouds that symbolize luck, protection, and prosperity.
The red-toned palette continues onto the strap, drawing from Chinese scroll paintings and the red bracelets tied to power and safeguarding in folklore. The result is a watch that feels both ancient and urgent, ceremonial and modern. RIDING THE CLOUDS lands in Swatch stores worldwide and on swatch.com.
