Schiaparelli Takes A Dip: The First Ever 'Gold Toe' Sneaker
Grab 'em while you can!
From the brand you've seen everywhere in recent seasons: Schiaparelli, debuted a sneaker unlike any you've seen before this past September on the Spring 2024 runway in Paris. Taking a timeless and iconic high-top sneaker we all know and love and giving it a little touch of Schiaparelli magic with the signature gold brass trompe l'oeil toes, becoming the brand's first-ever sneaker.
With its irregular tape measure design, the sneaker adds a quirky and contemporary edge to a traditional pair of footwear.
Artistic director Daniel Roseberry has a reputation for thinking outside the box, and with this latest creation, there is no doubt that he truly does. Fusing American wit with French craftsmanship makes for the perfect hybrid in creating a sneaker that carries both the Schiaparelli DNA and is modern and fresh.
He also briefly spoke on this new creation: "It's the fantasy of couture for the street. This sneaker has a special meaning for me because it symbolizes what I am: an American in Paris. It embodies the meeting of two worlds: American comfort and the rigor of French chic."
It is fair to say it is a clever mixture of traditional design with a streetwear edge, similar to what we have seen from many other brands at Fashion Week in previous seasons.
These ’gold toe trainers’ can be purchased at schiaparelli.com and in Schiaparelli retail stores for approximately $2400.
