Putin has banned the use of Facebook and Twitter in Russia, with anyone reporting anything contrary to the state narrative facing 15 years in prison.
Mass anti-war rallies in Russia have proven that the vast majority of the public are against the war. Footage has shown Russian security services beating and pulling away individuals protesting against the war. One individual arrested for protesting wrote a report for Open Democracy stating: ‘The government is determined to crush dissent’.

The new legislation indicates a frantic grab for power by Putin, pushing the country into a war that they don’t want.
The president of Facebook’s parent company, Nick Clegg, has pointed out that the new laws will prevent citizens from accessing materials from the rest of the world; Leaving them isolated.
The UK, US and other countries have continued to introduce new sanctions against Russia. Major corporations such as Starbucks, McDonalds and Coca-Cola have also announced that they will cease trading of their products in Russia.
