Hacking Group, Anonymous, has Waged War on Russia
The group has targeted several of Russia's largest infrastructures following the invasion of Ukraine.
Since Russian troops invaded Ukraine last week, it has dominated the news. Many countries have announced sanctions on Russia. The UK and US have put in place economic policies to put a strain on Russia’s military forces.
On Tuesday, hacking group, Anonymous announced that they would be taking action against Russia for their unlawful invasion of Ukraine.
The group have started their own attack on Russia’s online activity. Taunting the president with messages on e-vehicle charging support reading: ‘Putin is a dickhead’. The hacking has started to amp up, targeting their transport and energy infrastructure.
The group has also started work to compromise Russia’s Space Agency, interfering with satellites used for surveillance. However, despite these claims made by Anonymous, officials from the department have denied these claims.
This isn’t the first time Anonymous have used their powers for justice, with the group launching war against The Minneapolis Police Department following the murder of George Floyd in 2020.
