RuPaul Celebrates Emmy History
The drag queen took home his 11th Emmy Award on Sunday.
RuPaul Andre Charles has made Emmy history by becoming the most awarded person of color for his show RulPaul’s drag race. Season 13 of the show was awarded as the ‘best reality competition program’.
In scoring the award, the 60 year old star beat the competition from The Masked Singer, Nailed It!, Top Chef, and The Voice.
Ru made an appearance at the Emmys together with fellow judge Michelle Visage. They were joined by season 13 finalist Gottmik, and season 13's big winner Symone.
RuPaul thanked those who joined the show for sharing ‘their stories of courage’ in his acceptance speech.
'For you kids out there watching, you have a tribe that is waiting for you,' he added. 'We are waiting for you, baby. Come on to Mama Ru!'
