Reebok 90’s B-Ball Throw Back Sneaker

Unisex, just like the game.

POSTED BY HANEEN WÓJCIK

Lately, Reebok has been diving into its archives to produce fresh takes on 90’s classics. Hot off the launch of the Victoria Beckham collaboration featuring Ball legend Shaq, Reebok is revisiting their OG Ball sneakers, to create a unisex ball sneaker.

Throwback sneakers can be either dope AF capturing the era they first launched and represent or they could be tacky AF. Reebok’s Mobius OG samples the greatest hoop sneakers from the 90’s: Shaqnosis, Blast and Kamikaze II. Two color ways adorn the Mobius OG - a simple black/white and a red/white/blue- with accompanying apparel launching in both color ways to get that matchy matchy.

Reebok took Mobius to Harlem with photographer Tom Gould to capture “how local culture has influenced personal style over the years”. Currently Harlem street culture is under going a 90’s revival which sews a “deep heritage story” in the sneaker silhouette.

With Ball sneakers becoming more unisex, it is interesting to note whether football/soccer sneakers will also take a more unisex approach. Fashion, sports and gender is a 3 ingredient melting pot delivering flavor some designs.

We posed this question before and we will pose it again: Is an Iverson Revival on the cards at Reebok? We’ve seen Shaq, now let’s bring back The Answer to Reebok 90’s revival?

Reebok we need The Answer!
