Following the buzz around its Slow Runner silhouette, Axel Arigato is back with its next low-profile flex—the Tact Runner. Sleek, textural, and rooted in minimalism, this new unisex sneaker continues the brand’s quiet momentum with thoughtful design and tactile energy.
Low Profile, High Texture
The Tact Runner is all about contrast: clean lines meet expressive fabrics, and minimal shape meets rich materiality. Crafted in Portugal, the upper comes in brushed denim or hairy suede, giving the silhouette a plush, almost nostalgic feel. It's topped with hand-appliquéd finishes that elevate the texture—and make it feel one-of-a-kind.
That Sock-Like Sole
Underfoot, the Tact Runner features a slim, rubberised sole with interlocking knit-like texture—first seen on the Slow Runner. Designed to hug the foot like a sock, it brings your foot closer to the ground for an ultra-casual, everyday vibe. A soft curve at the heel adds comfort and a touch of sculpture.
Details That Whisper, Not Shout
Subtle embroidery on the tongue spells out Axel Arigato in delicate, interlocking stitches—mirroring design cues from the broader SS25 collection. On the side and back panels, you’ll find tone-on-tone stitching that keeps the profile clean and the texture in focus.
Introducing Tact Through Art
The launch campaign stars Orfeo Tagiuri, a multidisciplinary artist who turns garden furniture into surreal sculptures using hand-flocking techniques. It’s a nod to Creative Director Jens Werner’s ongoing fascination with childlike nostalgia, but filtered through a luxe, design-first lens.
“The Tact Runner is rooted in our clean court silhouettes, but reimagined with plush textures and voluminous forms,” says Werner. “It’s about creating tension between structure and softness—between form and feel.”
Drop Info
The Tact Runner lands in two brushed denim colorways—blue and charcoal—on April 30. Later in Summer 2025, expect new drops in suede: beige, black-oyster, brown, and grey.
