Out With The Old: Missoni FW23
The wheel doesn’t need reinventing, but Missoni have done it nicely.
Missoni is back for Fall / Winter 23 with a new twist but the same taste and style that the brand has become known for. The omnipresent and iconic Missoni chevron pattern has been reworked and brought back, which is a treat for brand stans, both new and old. The geometric print makes its comeback in multiple different silhouettes, fabrics, shades, neutrals tones, and brighter numbers like blue and bright crimson.
This collection brings us a wide variety of garments. Maxi dresses, trench coats, jumpsuits, and mesh dresses, to name but a few. Tight-fitting shirts feature styled to emphasize the midriff cutouts that they boast. On a similar wavelength, shirt dresses featuring a zig-zag pattern offer the dual-toned color palette that runs throughout the core of this collection. This is seen in the fur coats presented, nodding to Harley Quinn's world-renown color palette of contrasting blue and pink. The split and the chevron pattern harmonize like Nicole Kidman and Robbie Williams to create loud and proud pieces.
There is a repetition of a floral linework pattern that is present throughout. Whether it be on beige-y neutrals, black lace cardigans, or a white maxi dress, Missoni keeps the iconic motifs running through this collection that breathes fresh air and preserves the brand's style.
