Missoni's 2022 Fall/Winter Collection Looks Towards The Future

The iconic Italian brand is reinventing itself.

POSTED BY MALKINA VARGAS

Missoni has always been at the forefront of quality, cutting-edge knitwear design within the fashion industry. Having originated in Italy nearly 70 years ago by husband-wife duo Ottavio and Rosita Missoni, the brand has become famous for its unapologetic use of bright colors and the iconic, eye-catching zig-zag prints.

With that being said, Missoni has not been shy to evolve and reinvent itself throughout the decades since its inception during the 1950s. For its Fall/Winter 2022 collection, the Italian brand is combining the past and the present by giving traditional garments and silhouettes a modern twist for today’s customer. The collection is described as defining itself through its use of color, with each garment and every different color variation telling its own story. This particular collection claims to be reinventing itself for the present moment, and therefore finding its setting in the future.

The collection features a rhinestone-encrusted bathrobe with the famous and ever-iconic zig-zag pattern and color combinations of warm neutral colors contrasted with light blue and black. A variation of mini dresses and long dresses come in different color patterns and silhouettes, some of which make use of chromatic designs. The collection also features darker, more sophisticated pieces including trousers, sweaters, and blazers that still add a flair of modernism with sequins or other kinds of embroidery.

The new Missoni collection is stepping into an entirely different dimension and is giving the brand a fresher, more contemporary vision for the future. Combining the traditionality of the brand’s garments with these subtle hints at futurism, it's an absolutely stunning and refreshing new season for Missoni.
