Serena Williams Partners With Nike, Revealing Design Crew Footwear And Apparel Collection

Inspired by 90s trends and West African prints.

In 2019, Nike and Serena Williams came together to launch SWDC, Serena Williams Design Crew – an apprenticeship program devised to champion diversity in the realm of design. The collection is inspired by lifestyle and performance, incorporating footwear, apparel, and accessories.

Influenced by the Tennis star’s legacy, the collection embodies 90s nostalgia, incorporating key design details that showcase the timeline of Williams’ grand slams. Personal touches include a reference to her daughter’s initials, “00 Williams”, which have been woven into West African motifs.

Leading the collection is the footwear – classic Nike Air Maxes are topped off with bold prints and gold trims, inspired by Kente cloth motifs - celebrating inclusivity and diversity.

The apparel range features an array of products, including everything from typical athleisurewear to bodysuits and matching mesh jerseys.

Get ready to shop the collection this Autumn – pieces drop online and in stores on September 1st.
