Nike Collabs With sacai, Off-White™, UNDERCOVER And AMBUSH On Apparel Collections This Summer
Dropping in time for the Tokyo Olympics
Nike is linking up with four international labels in sacai, Off-White™, UNDERCOVER and AMBUSH on sport-focused apparel collections, in spirit of the Tokyo Olympics. Chitose Abe, Virgil Abloh, Jun Takahashi and Yoon Ahn have all put their personal touches and unique perspectives to engineer sporty-yet-sleek styles. All of the collections are designed to unify people through sport.
Guiding the way is Virgil Abloh and his Nike X Off-White™ apparel collection. Alongside his trio of Nike Air Zoom Tempo NEXT% collaborations, he is dropping a range of apparel pieces including short-sleeved tees, crop tops for the ladies, utility pants shorts with built-in compression shorts, tight shorts and socks.
Chitose Abe of sacai has produced athleisure items including bomber jackets, cropped tanks and windbreaker jackets that can be used for lifestyle and sportswear purposes.
Yoon Ahn from AMBUSH looks to the futuristic and Tokyo-friendly colors for her pieces. Moto-style pants and jackets, all of which follow a neon pink/ black and neon green/black color-blocking. “I wanted to try something new and take a risk”, Ahn says when speaking on her collection. “The fun thing about fashion is that all these different elements can co-exist with functionality.”
Last but definitely not least, UNDERCOVER takes a trip into the realm of hoops by fusing vintage basketball silhouettes with Japan’s streetball culture. Jun Takahashi designs a new “league” of his own titled the UBA and plasters this onto various jerseys and shorts along with the brands signature “CHAOS” and “BALANCE” wording.
Keep an eye out for the Off-White™ pieces to drop on July 23, UNDERCOVERS to launch on July 28, the AMBUSH collection to be released on July 30 and the sacai pieces to drop on August 4.
