Nia Chennai Drops "Give It Up" And Turns Up The R&B Heat
Self-worth and empowerement.
London’s own rising R&B star, Nia Chennai, is kicking off the new year with a seriously sultry new single, Give It Up, featuring the enchanting Ella More. Out now, this track is setting the stage for an epic 2025—a year where raw emotion meets slick production and bold, honest storytelling.
Following the buzz around her previous hits “So Pretty When You Cry” and “Who’s That Girl,” Nia proves once again why she’s one of the most talked-about voices in UK R&B. With a catchy melody, smooth, seductive vocals, and a production that’s equal parts nostalgic and cutting-edge, Give It Up is a breath of fresh air. Ella More’s sweet harmonies add just the right touch, exploring themes of female empowerment and the art of putting yourself first.
Speaking about the collab, Nia reflects, “In 2023, me and Ella were both on the lineup for a show at London Kindred. After our sets, we just vibed and hung out, we both thought each other were dope. Later that year, I was jotting down a list of people I wanted to collab with, and Ella was the first name that came up. Making this track was so easy going. Me and Ella just bounced ideas off each other, and it flowed like we had been friends for years. It was both our first female collab, so the energy was already high, it was good vibes from the start. When we got in the studio, we were just talking about life — how sometimes you really gotta stand on business and walk away from stuff that’s not serving you.
That vibe really shaped the whole track. I want people, especially women, to know that it’s more than okay to put yourself first. It’s about walking away from what doesn’t serve you without feeling bad about it. Know your worth and move with that confidence, but keep it real and true to who you are.”
Ella More adds, “I’ve admired Nia’s artistry for a while, and collaborating with her firsthand has deepened my respect for her talent and vision. We made this song during our very first session together over a year ago. It felt so easy working with her and we creatively bounced off each other. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it and, hopefully, love it as much as we do!”
Hailing from South London and raised in Surrey, Nia’s been turning heads on the UK R&B scene with her unique blend of soulful melodies and introspective lyrics. Her music has already earned her brand ambassador roles with Lemonade Dolls and Beyond Retro.
Give It Up is not just a track—it’s a declaration. A call to embrace your worth, to celebrate every note of vulnerability, and to step into the spotlight with confidence. Keep an eye on this rising star as she continues to inspire and connect through every beat and lyric.
