The residency is part of the We Only Want the Earth (WOWTE) 2022 program. WOWTE is an Ireland based program set to enact social change pertaining to various injustices in contemporary society including climate change, homelessness, and growing sects of hate.
The artists’ application should respond and explore ideas of social change but do not necessarily have to include topics of gender identity. Lilith Ferreyra-Carroll, TENI’s National Community Development Officer, described the project “Much of the artistic expression that pertains to our community often takes the form of established cisgender artists examining and documenting our community from their perspective or attempting to tell our story from their viewpoint and often for their benefit.”
