NEUX Is Building Her Own Beat And It’s Global
From Tbilisi to Berlin.
NEUX, the artistic moniker of Nata Beradze, is carving out a distinct space in the European techno scene. Hailing from Georgia and now rooted in Berlin, she brings a unique perspective to her craft, blending her background as a singer-songwriter with her prowess as a DJ. Her sound—a fusion of Berlin’s driving techno beats and the evocative rhythms of her Georgian heritage—marks her as a standout talent. Her debut track, All I Want, is a testament to this innovative style, showcasing her ability to weave creativity and versatility into every beat.

A resident at Tbilisi’s renowned KHIDI club, NEUX has solidified her reputation as a force in the techno world. Her performances have already resonated in cities like Berlin, Paris, and Shanghai, earning her a growing following. Looking ahead to 2025, she’s set to take her music to new heights with shows planned in Barcelona, Berlin, Paris, Milan, Budapest, and a tour spanning Japan and China—though specific dates remain under wraps for now.
But what fuels NEUX’s distinctive sound and tireless drive? In our exclusive FIZZY MAG interview that follows, we dive into her inspirations, her creative process, and what’s in store for her upcoming performances.
Nata, your music fuses Berlin’s pulsating techno with the rich rhythms of your Georgian heritage. How do you approach blending these influences, and what draws you to incorporating traditional elements into your sets?
I would say that the music I play isn’t necessarily defined by either Tbilisi or Berlin's sound, but both of these major cities have undeniably shaped who I am as an artist today. Every performance and the most impactful experiences I’ve had—whether as a DJ or simply as part of the dancefloor—have taken place in either city. The crowds in both Tbilisi and Berlin are distinct, each offering unique experiences and different kinds of emotional rewards. Being a DJ and having a presence and recognition in both cities is incredibly meaningful to me, and I feel truly humbled by it. Music is alive—it breathes and evolves. Personally, the music I play in clubs is a reflection of my experiences as someone who loves to dance. I enjoy playing what resonates with me and what I feel deeply.
As an artist, I also embody two distinct personalities. On one hand, I am a techno DJ; on the other, I create trip-hop, sing, and transform my poetry into song verses. This duality allows me to explore different facets of my creativity and connect with a wider range of emotions and experiences.
Your first Berghain experience was a pivotal moment in your journey toward becoming a techno artist. What was it about that night that changed your perspective on music, and how has it influenced your sound today?
My experience at Berghain was a game-changing moment for me, as it was the first club where I truly let loose and danced for an entire 18 hours. It exposed me to electronic music in a way that felt exhilarating and transformative. I fell in love with the scene then, even though I had no idea I would one day become a DJ myself.
The intimacy in Berghain allowed me to immerse myself fully in the moment, which is one of the main challenges these days—to just forget and be here, now. When I received an offer from my friend and talented musician Phase Fatale to perform at Berghain for his label BITE, it felt overwhelming. As cringe as it might sound, I was both scared and very happy at the same time. It was then that I realized this was a significant step forward, and I had a responsibility not only to perform but to do my absolute best.
I played the opening set, and before that experience, I hadn’t viewed the role of an opening DJ as particularly important. I used to focus on landing main slots, driven by my energy as a party girl eager to give and receive. However, this moment changed my perspective. I recognized it as my chance to prove to myself and others that I could be professional and captivating while setting the tone for the night—a crucial part of any great party. I took the time to prepare differently, approaching the empty floor as a sacred place to meditate.
I enjoyed it, the crowd enjoyed it, and we created a wonderful atmosphere together. I felt proud as an artist, and ever since, I've come to appreciate the importance of opening slots. I respect the artists who follow me and see it as a mark of maturity in my journey.
As a resident DJ at KHIDI, you’ve played a key role in shaping the club’s sound. What makes KHIDI such a special place for you, and how has that residency helped you evolve as an artist?
KHIDI is, and has always been, a truly unique space from the moment it came into existence. It has provided Georgian people with a different sound and experience, allowing us to explore and discover genres like industrial, EBM, post-punk, and others that were previously unfamiliar to our scene. The greatness of the sound and lighting creates an unparalleled atmosphere.
When I joined the club, I knew that they would not try to conform me to a specific sound or put me into a box. Instead, they wanted to diversify and expand the club's sound. I love the openness and inclusivity of KHIDI. It has taught me so much that it’s hard to put into words. The opportunities it has provided me are just incredible. I don’t think I will ever feel the same way anywhere else.
Particularly unforgettable are the nights where I’ve played closing sets of up to 10 hours. Those experiences are irreplaceable and unconditional. KHIDI has truly become a home for me, and I am grateful for every moment I've spent there. Tamuna Axander, the owner of the club, is a true example of someone who deeply feels, loves, and lives music—not only on an emotional level, but also through her commitment to education. More than that, she was the one who truly saw me and believed in me. I can’t answer this question without mentioning her.
One for the books that I carry in my heart is when she gave me the opportunity to play a closing set after Oscar Mulero, knowing how much it meant to me and trusting that I could handle it. This club has awakened something in me—it convinced me to stay on this path and never set any limits. Freedom in performance and confidence is KHIDI for me.
You’ve faced challenges navigating the male-dominated DJ scene but have also credited mentors and the Tbilisi community for their support. What advice would you give to emerging female artists looking to carve out space in electronic music?
For me, it wasn't necessarily about male dominance; it was about the perception of being a female artist and DJ while navigating the expectations of femininity. There’s a cliché that being feminine, attractive, or open is often considered commercial or “too much,” detracting from the authenticity of the underground scene. This perception impacted me as I was just starting out in this world and stepping into a largely male-dominated space. It felt intimidating, and I often found myself second-guessing whether I was wearing the right outfit, for example.
I’m sure many other female artists have experienced similar feelings. However, I’ve reached a point where I choose to do what feels right for me. I believe that what’s authentic to us ultimately resonates with the audience. Women have faced suppression in every field throughout history, but increasingly, we are becoming louder and more empowered, with the freedom to choose how we want to live and present ourselves.
As a Georgian female artist, I aspire to resist stereotypes and empower others in the process. I hope to inspire more women to carve out their own paths in the industry while embracing their individuality.
With upcoming shows across Europe and a tour in Japan and China, your global reach is growing fast. How do different cities and crowds influence your performances, and do you adapt your sets based on where you’re playing?
I am beyond excited for what’s to come. I work hard and have learned to be patient, appreciating the small details and the opportunities I’ve been given. I feel incredibly grateful to have a job that is rooted in my passion for music and creativity. It allows me to make a living out of it—traveling and exploring different continents and cultures, meeting new people, and growing along the way. Asia holds a special place in my heart, and I am thrilled to visit Japan and China this year. I’m committed to making these experiences unforgettable!
