The Many Faces Of Naomi Jon

She isn’t choosing one path, but all of them — turning each into a fearless act of self-expression

POSTED BY ALINA KUVALDINA

"I'm an anarchist and I set this world on fire," sings Naomi Jon in her track Placebo. But this line isn’t just a catchy lyric — it’s a bold declaration of how she moves through life, where everything she touches becomes a bold act of self-expression that defies expectations.

Naomi Jon isn’t simply building a career — each new project expands the universe she inhabits and brings forward a different side of her creative vision. Through every release, look, or concept, she deepens the multifaceted persona her audience has come to admire: bold, self-aware, and always in motion. In an exclusive interview, we spoke with Naomi about how her creative universe keeps expanding — and how she chooses what to pour her energy into.

Naomi, you do so many things — from YouTube and TikTok to music, beauty, books, perfume... Out of everything you create, which area feels the most important to you right now — and which one brings you the most joy? Why do you think that is?

To be honest with you, this is a really difficult question because I love all of it! The good part about my job is that I don’t really have to decide because I can do everything. But if I had to decide, I just love making music at the moment, because especially right now I’m having a lot of sessions exploring my sound, exploring what comes next after my first album. It’s just a very interesting and fun time right now.

Your debut album is called Villain of Your Dreams. Who is she — and what does she sound like?

A lot of people always thought that the villain of your dreams is this typical textbook villain and that she’s evil and everything, but that’s actually not true. Being the VOYD just means that if I’m the antagonist in other people’s stories, I will embrace that role and I will be the most awe-inspiring version of it. It means not giving a f*ck about what other people think and just being a bad bitch. And that’s what she sounds like, too.

Are there also new music projects on the horizon — and has your creative focus shifted since then?

Yes, of course, there are new projects in the making – like I said, I’m exploring my sound at the moment and making lots of songs. The villain of your dreams was amazing, I love her so much, but I feel like now it’s time for something else, so my focus is definitely on who and what comes next.

How different is Naomi the YouTuber from Naomi the musician on stage?

Oh, those two Naomi’s are definitely very different cause especially with the villain of your dreams tour, which was such a conceptual tour, I just transformed into the mysterious villain on stage – meanwhile on YouTube, I’m more of that quirky, funny type of Naomi that you can just have a laugh with. I would still consider both of the personas to be Naomi, but they’re just very different.

How do you keep your beauty content feeling fresh and creatively exciting — even after all these years?

I think my personal secret to that is to not only do beauty content. I started with beauty content on YouTube, but I shifted, and now I’m also doing entertainment, fashion, cooking, and vlogging. I’m still doing beauty, but I feel like the key is to have different facets and always be able to show people something new about you.

When you create a look, is it mostly mood-based, character-based, or pure experimentation?

It depends on what I’m creating the look for. If it’s just an everyday Makeup look, it’s mood-based, but if it’s for a music video or for the stage, it’s definitely character-based. But a little bit of experimentation is part of every look.

You’re funny, self-aware, and always authentic. Is that something you learned to show — or have you always been this open?

Aw, I feel super flattered, cause those are exactly the characteristics I’m most proud of. I think I’ve always been like this, and the good thing is I never lost it. Doing the job I do, it’s easy to lose these attributes, but I always have people around me who ground me! When I started doing social media, I also simultaneously did an apprenticeship as a media designer, so I also worked a 9 to 5 job for 3 years, and I think that also really helped make me self-aware and grounded. And well, the funny part is I was just born with it, what can I say!

You’ve done makeup, music, perfume — what’s next for the Naomi Jon universe?

Yes, I’ve done all these things, but that doesn’t mean that’s over. I’m just getting started with the music, that’s for sure. I also have an amazing scent planned to release this year, and honestly, the world is my oyster!
