The 13-track album, co-produced by Cyrus and Shawn Everett, unfolds alongside a companion film set to premiere this June. Created in collaboration with XYZ Films and visionary director Panos Cosmatos, the visual project promises a surreal, operatic experience with costume direction featuring archival Mugler, Gaultier, McQueen, and Alaïa. Cyrus stars in the film herself, which she co-directed with Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter.

Prelude to the End

Ahead of the album's full release, Cyrus surprised fans with the first two tracks and accompanying visuals, “Prelude” and the title track “Something Beautiful.” Both serve as the conceptual introduction to the record, establishing a narrative sequence that will continue with each subsequent single. On April 4, she follows up with the official release of “End of the World,” the first global single—ushering in the album’s rising emotional stakes.

Fans can already stream and view the first two tracks online, and a teaser for “End of the World” is also available now, offering a glimpse of what's to come.

Fashion as Storytelling

Shot by Glen Luchford, the album’s artwork features Cyrus in rare Thierry Mugler Couture from 1997—a look that also appears in the “Prelude” visual. Fashion plays a central role in the film, with Mugler creative director Casey Cadwallader contributing original designs for key moments in the project. The film features the largest Mugler archive loan ever granted to an individual, underscoring the scale and cultural relevance of the collaboration.

A Multidisciplinary Statement

Something Beautiful isn’t just an album—it’s a layered experience that fuses music, fashion, and cinema. With visionary cinematography by Benoît Debie and a clear, structured roll-out mimicking cinematic acts, this era signals Miley’s most conceptually unified work to date.
