Louis Vuitton Showcase FW21 ‘Felt Line’ Using Recycled Materials

Designed by Virgil Abloh.

POSTED BY SOPHIE GROSVENOR

Virgil Abloh has constructed a series of eco-friendly bags for Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2021 season.

The Keepall, Keepall XS and soft trunk all are designed with innovative textiles composed with 43 percent organic cotton and 20 percent recycled wool. Other details include lining produced from existing stocks, corners and chains using recycled plastic and straps and handles in Leather-working Group-certified leather. Each bag is finished using lurex thread tufting to form a Monogram pattern.

The Felt Line adds to LV’s sustainable development policy, which Christelle Capdupuy- Louis Vuitton’s global head of sustainability- said “We target the use of existing stocks of raw materials, in order to preserve natural resources. This is often done by Virgil Abloh in his collections. Today, we’re furthering our commitments by extending our sustainable development approach to all of raw materials with the goal of reaching 100 percent responsibly sourced raw materials by 2025.”

The full “Felt Line” is due to land at Louis Vuitton locations on July 16.
