Old Hollywood But She’s 22 And Just Got Drafted

With a face card and a concept

Lauren Betts really said, if I’m entering the league, I’m doing it with a face card and a concept.

Fresh off going No. 4 to the Washington Mystics, she pulled up to the draft serving full Old Hollywood, but not in a costume-y way. More like soft-focus glamour that actually works in 2026. Think bronzed eyes, coral blush sitting high on the cheekbones, glossy lips with a brown edge. Warm, sculpted, glowing, but still very much her.

It’s that sweet spot where makeup looks done but not heavy. You can tell there’s intention, but it’s not screaming for attention.

Athlete, But Make It Beauty Girl Energy

The NYX moment makes sense. Betts isn’t coming in as just another draft pick. She’s already moving like someone who understands the crossover. Sports, beauty, image, all of it blending into one lane. And the WNBA is leaning into that harder than ever right now, the draft basically turning into its own fashion week side quest.

What I like is that nothing feels forced. The glam doesn’t overpower her, it sharpens her. Same energy as her game, honestly. Controlled, confident, a little understated until you actually pay attention.

And that’s probably the point. She’s not trying to be the loudest in the room. She just is the moment if you’re looking properly.
