Apple TV’s The New Look is a show that transports viewers to a different time period, and its soundtrack does the same. The soundtrack, curated by Grammy-winning producer Jack Antonoff, features contemporary artists covering songs from the past.

One of the artists who lent their voice to the soundtrack is Lana Del Rey, who sang Irving Berlin’s “Blue Skies.” The song was originally written in 1926 for the musical Rodgers and Hart, but became a hit after a recorded version was released. It has been covered by many legendary singers, such as Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald and Willie Nelson.

Del Rey’s version of “Blue Skies” is a cheerful rendition, with a bass and brass accompaniment.

Del Rey and Antonoff have a close working relationship. Antonoff produced Del Rey’s latest album, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, and is also collaborating with her on her next album, Lasso, which will have a country vibe. The first three episodes of The New Look are available to watch on Apple TV.
