Lady Gaga's New Avant-garde Look Electrifies Former Fans

Mother Monster strikes again!

POSTED BY JHON GARCIA

Lady Gaga walked the red carpet for the premiere of her new HBO concert film, Gaga Chromatica Ball in a white gown encapsulated in a car part. The brutalist design was created by Selva, an Argentinian designer based in Berlin, as part of their latest collection [603.628]km².

The avant-garde look left former fans hopeful for her next music phase, reminding them of a time when Gaga was known to ignite controversy and inspiration.

Gaga branded herself as a fashion icon in her early career with her ostentatious looks. From her iconic meat dress to hatching from an egg during her Grammy performance in 2011, she kept everyone wondering when and where she would strike next.

As the years went by, her red carpet looks were refined. With the release of her album Joanne and her starring in A Star is Born, Lady Gaga’s loud avant-garde style matured into a reposeful sophistication.

Until now, Gaga had not been seen in avant-garde fashion since the release of her album Artpop in 2012.

The Calm Before the Storm

At her film event, Gaga wore a long black dress with a laced bodice and a mask, similar to the earlier car part look.

The resemblance to old-school Lady Gaga is uncanny, leaving fans wondering if she will go back to her roots.

“Dancing in the Shadow of the Moon”?

At the end of the Gaga Chromatica Ball film, she teases fans with a snippet of what seems to be an unreleased song from her upcoming album. Fans speculate between her singing “dancing in the shadow of the night” or the “moon”. With her black and white wardrobe change, Gaga seems to be playing with the concept of the moon.

Speculations of an old-school Gaga are not so far-fetched. She acknowledges her roots and will strike again with a different vibe. She has matured as a person and musician throughout the years and from that, we can expect to hear something new and exciting while also having a taste of the Gaga we all knew.
