Is Dark Cottagecore The New Tour Look?

There's been a huge burst of popular artists announcing tours this year: Phoebe Bridgers, Olivia Rodrigo, Noah Kahan, and Gracie Abrams. As an avid fan of all of these singers, I've been keeping a hawk eye on presales and Pinterest—because I'll be damned if I show up to a tour wearing the wrong outfit.

What stood out to me was the sheer amount of black, brown, and white lace I was seeing. People are preparing Phoebe Bridgers' Lost tour outfits with dark maxi skirts and Doc Martens (very Fairy Grunge), while Gracie Abrams' The Secret of Us tour looks are leaning into maroons, ribbons, and dark leather jackets.

These details point towards a Dark Cottagecore vibe emerging in concert outfits. Perhaps the most compelling example is Noah Kahan's The Last of the Bugs tour, with fans embracing insect-inspired looks alongside plenty of browns, greens, and whites. I was especially gutted to miss out on tickets because I had a white floral bandana and lace dress combination I'd been dying to wear.

Dark Cottagecore is already an aesthetic my autumn wardrobe naturally leans towards, so I suppose I can use this concert trend as inspiration for my upcoming seasonal outfits. I might not have tickets to every tour, but I can still be part of the aesthetic in my own way.
