Scared Of Flying? You Will Love This Song

Elliot Lee and her ‘Airplanes’ have got you covered.

Supported by a dedicated fanbase of ‘bubblegum army’, streamed over a million times, Brooklyn-based artist Elliot Lee, uses music to represent the underrepresented and recognize the often-unheard voices. Despite their continuous successes and online popularity, they admit that deep down inside they're quite a fearful person… so they wrote a song about it, featuring a collab with Letdown.

Initially, ‘Airplanes,’ their newest single, delivers a literal yet highly relatable source of inspiration – fear of flying. ‘A lot of things in life terrify me. If I had to make a list, flying would probably be number one,’ confesses Elliot Lee. Although that statement feels powerful on its own, the artist takes it to the next level and uses it as an excuse to weave a story on mental health problems and anxiety.

Among other things that they find frightening, Elliot Lee names ‘disappointing people,’ ‘taking up too much space,’ and ‘societal pressure to conform to a gender binary’. Their single ‘Airplane,’ therefore, is a perfect example of their extraordinary talent to carefully observe the reality around them and create extraordinary art out of mundane things.

‘Airplanes’ by Elliot Lee will be a perfect song to play when the plane takes off… or when you feel your anxieties overwhelm you. You’re not alone.
