If The Season Of Fall Could Be A Sound, It Would Be Misty Mtn’s EP
‘Weren’t Those The Days’ is a reflection upon the change from summer to winter
Warm, delicate, soft, beautiful, contemplative, and meditative. All of these words seem more than accurate to describe ‘Weren’t Those The Days,’ the newest EP by Misty Mtn, a synth-pop duo, comprised of Montana native vocalist/songwriter Mo Trunzo, and multi-instrumentalist from Los Angels, Lucas Segal.
A magical, autumnal aura is brought by Mo’s wonderfully effortless, subtle, and gentle vocal, thanks to whom the four-track EP ‘Weren’t Those The Days’ sounds like a collaboration between Tori Amos and the folklore version of Taylor Swift. Lyrically, the project reflects upon the change of season, happy-sad feeling, memories, and a sense of belonging.
This is how the duo Misty Mtn explains the title of ‘Weren’t Those The Days.’ ‘It’s human to wake up and feel like you were born in the wrong era or romanticize some past relationship or path not taken. We’re not offering an escape from that, or some sort of self-help manifesto about living in the present—just a meditation on that most intimately human experience.’
Additionally, the band releases visualizers to three tracks: ‘Beachwood,’ ‘In The Deep End,’ and the titular, ‘Weren’t Those The Days.’ The videos poeticize seemingly mundane activities such as driving a car or taking a bath, proving the duo’s extraordinary sensitivity and creativity.
‘Weren’t Those The Days’ by Misty Mtn is available on streaming platforms.
