Head to Venice with Max Mara

And their 2025 Resort Collection.

To unveil their 2025 Resort collection, Max Mara headed to Laura Serenissima to pay homage to the curiosity and spirit of adventure that leads to discovery and evolution.

This show commemorated 700 years since Marco Polo, the renowned Venetian trader, passed away. His legendary journeys introduced Europe to stories of faraway places. Max Mara's newest line is infused with Polo's ethos of curiosity, inclusivity, and his advanced perspectives on women.

A fashion first, the show was held at Palazzo Ducale where models walked against the backdrop of St. Marks Square. The intention, Ian Griffiths, said was to design “a wardrobe that expresses a slightly debonair, adventurous, almost swashbuckling feel, to be worn by a confident modern woman with a certain swagger.”

So what are they offering?

Silk-tasseled belts cinch in the waists of luxurious, sweeping cashmere coats, giving them a voluptuous shape. Caftans and airy dusters add a breezy feel, while capes evoke the traditional tabarri cloaks worn by Venetian gentlemen in the 18th century.

It’s the season of the sleeve. Here, sleeves are a standout element, with balloon shapes, asymmetrical handkerchief cuts, and slender designs with contrasting cuffs. The silhouettes vary from long and lean to short and leggy.

True to Max Mara’s signature style, the use of decoration is minimal, yet this collection feels more ornate, thanks to the opulent jacquards inspired by Byzantine mosaics and the delicate organzas with Eastern-inspired golden designs.

The understated decorative approach is balanced by a neutral palette, dominated by a striking resurgence of camel tones, as highlighted by Griffiths at the showcasing of his work.

The looks are certain to elevate your wardrobe, whether you wear them for work, for play, or for leisure.

Something that sets Max Mara apart is the wearability of their pieces - these are not once in a lifetime wears that will gather dust in your wardrobe. They are pieces to wear day-in day-out as you choose as the luxury calls out to you.

We say, let it call out, and let it guide you.
