Gucci Beauty’s Latest Runway Makeup Looked Like New York At 2 PM And 2 AM At The Same Time

The GucciCore beauty looks weren’t trying to create one woman.

Set against Times Square’s permanent overstimulation, the makeup direction leaned hard into contrast. Day versus night. Fresh-faced glow versus smeared-out nightlife drama. Soft flushed skin colliding with sharp contour and almost gothic eyes. The kind of beauty styling that feels pulled from passing strangers you become briefly obsessed with on a New York sidewalk.

The Day Looks Felt Expensive Without Looking Overdone

For the softer side of the show, Gucci kept skin luminous and slightly undone instead of aggressively perfected.

Glow Highlighter and Glow Blush created that expensive, healthy radiance luxury beauty campaigns are obsessed with right now, while the new Glow Oil-In-Water Tint gave lips a sheer glossy finish that looked more “naturally hot person” than full glam. Shades like Frosted Lilac and Warm Gold added light without tipping into obvious shimmer territory.

The overall effect was very downtown-girl-after-an-iced-coffee-run. Minimal effort visually, but every product placement calculated down to the millimeter.

Even the lip choices stayed restrained. Beige mattes, peachy satin finishes, muted warmth. Pretty, but with enough neutrality to let the skin carry the mood.

Then the Night Looks Came in Like a Cigarette-Smoked Fever Dream

This is where Gucci really leaned into the city-never-sleeps fantasy.

Heavy black lashes from Mascara Le Magnétisme and Mascara L’Obscur paired with smudgy kohl eyeliner turned the faces darker, sharper, more nocturnal. Brows became deliberate and graphic. Contour looked almost sculptural under the lighting. Then the lips shifted into deeper territory with dark reds and even glossy black accents layered with Éclat de Beauté Effet Lumière for that wet vinyl effect.

It didn’t feel clean or “quiet luxury.”
It felt alive.

Like makeup worn after midnight once perfection stops mattering and presence takes over instead.

Gucci Understands That Beauty Is Becoming More Character-Driven Again

That’s really the bigger thing underneath this whole approach.

For a while, beauty trends flattened everybody into the same polished template. Same contour placement. Same lip combo. Same “clean girl” neutrality repeated endlessly until individuality disappeared completely.

GucciCore pushes against that by embracing contradiction instead. One face glowing softly in daylight. Another looking like she hasn’t slept and probably has incredible stories.

Both equally glamorous.

Which feels more true to New York anyway. A city where beauty has never really belonged to one aesthetic at a time.
