Ganni Welcomes New CEO
Balenciaga's Laura du Rusquec Joins Danish label
What do you get when you mix a Spanish-French fashion house with a contemporary Nordic label?
Well, it's Laura du Rusquec becoming CEO of Ganni, coming from long-established fashion powerhouse Balenciaga.
The power move from Ganni signals a step in a new direction for the brand. Former CEO Andrea Baldo made an incredible impact on the label over the last few years, turning Ganni into one of the trendiest brands of the previous year. It is and has consistently been everywhere. That said, it's exciting that Du Rusquec will be taking a different route with Ganni and bringing new ideas to the table.
Being based in the Paris office, the new CEO will still be close enough to her French heritage to maybe even infuse some of that French flair into the Scandinavian world of Ganni. With a background in the fashion industry, at Balenciaga's parent company Kering, as Senior Associate in the Strategy Department at Gucci in 2009, as well as Global Brand Director for Marketing and Merchandising for Pomellato in 2013, there is no denying her expertise in the industry and luxury sector.
Commenting on her new role with much enthusiasm, she stated that she is "thrilled to be joining Ganni at such a pivotal time and to continue building on the strong foundations of the brand."
Du Rusquec is not the only one looking forward to her future with Ganni. We can't wait to see what this Danish/French union will create over the next few seasons.
Ganni was founded in 2000 in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, by Frans Truelsen. Creative director Ditte Reffstrup and CEO Nicolaj Reffstrup took over the company in 2009. Nowadays, Ganni has over 45 stores across the world as well as operating in e-commerce in 35 countries.
