Ganni's New Vegan Bag is Made from Orange and Cactus Waste

Introducing Ohoskin, a low-impact alternative to leather.

POSTED BY KASEY O'CONNELL

Ganni has just debuted their new Bou Bag at their Fall/Winter 2023 show. The unique and stylish piece is the brand’s first product made from the vegan leather alternative Ohoskin. This plant-based material is developed from the recycled orange and cactus waste, as well as recycled plastics. Ganni chose the material for its luxury feeling and durability, which made it comparable to real leather.

Ganni has committed to phasing out virgin leather in 2023 after discovering it was the brand’s largest polluter. They’ve replaced it with vegan alternatives like Ohoskin as well as recycled leather. The Bou Bag, named for creative director Ditte Reffstrup’s, is available in recycled leather as well. It is available to GANNI Bags now in six different colorways.
